Total rip off. It's not the book, it's a jerk writing a one page summary of each chapter and then selling it with the title, claiming it's a novel and taking the cash. AVOID J MORGAN!

Like a lot of us, I was hoping for Ranger, Ranger and more Ranger. I was excited when Morelli seemed to remove himself from the picture. But that didn't happen. This is just the same story line with different cases to solve. I'm not wasting any more money on this series.

I think somebody co-wrote the book. It was flat, boring, and totally predictable. I have laughed out loud with many is her earlier books but this was sad sad so sad.

I've been hanging on to this series for the last few years in hopes that it would return to its former glory (right around book 12 or 13) but sadly this is the end. To be honest, I was expecting to be disappointed but when Evanovich opened the story with the conflict between Morelli and Stephanie I had some hope that this story was not copied and pasted from the last 10 books. Maybe something other than Stephanie's inability to choose between two sexy, at-odds, law enforcement men would not be the focus of the book! Maybe for once, one of the guys will step up and draw the line or Stephanie will put her big girl panties on and choose. It was endearing and understandable in the beginning but now the theme of indecision is tired if not dead. The story ends the same way it has ended for the few books. Morelli doesn't change at all and I was kind of excited and intrigued by what he could be up to if we wasn't a police officer or with Stephanie Plum. Ranger has zero charisma in this book which is a waste of his mysterious and thrilling background.The plot of the book was ridiculous. Stephanie used to get involved in hilarious adventures that were plausible because she was so clumsy and desperate and in New Jersey, the Capital of Weirdness. I think Evanovich is running out of stories for our bounty hunter because she for the last two books (SPOILER ALERT) she has been using terrorism and now bioterrorism. These are serious crimes on a national level. It's not funny because Stephanie is so far out of her depth that there is no way for her to actually stay ahead. The villain is also, for lack of better word, stupid. I miss the gangbangers, the deadly funeral directors, and psychotic gamers. In the past, Trenton and the people living there, provided a rich environment for crazy criminals but now it is a dull background with boring and predictable interactions.Lula and the gang of supporting characters can't help this book. I'm pretty sure that Lula has actually been copied and pasted for the last 5 books. Vinnie isn't remotely funny. Grandma can't even make me laugh! I feel like we have been beat over the head with these character traits for the last few books. The only thing we know for sure is Lula is a big woman with a lot of personality, big appetite, and promiscuous out look on life. Come on, this woman is a former ho! In the beginning she at least had spark and fire but I can't remember the last time she had development. Lula's lack of development is a huge loss. Grandma likes funerals, men and big guns. We get it. Ranger and Morelli are hot and Stephanie can't choose between them. Fine we get it but it's Plum's loss.Stephanie hasn't changed at all. I'm not saying she has to be a badass bounty hunter or become better at everything but she has to make choices. Choices drive a character's development and she has made none of them. She literally muddles through crises as they come up and then goes back to whatever she was doing before . After 22 books and countless adventures she would make a bad mentor to anyone in the bounty hunting business. She could have been hilarious in a teaching role.Sadly I bought this book in Kindle format at 13.99. For the first time I wish I could I could return a Stephanie Plum book.

But here’s the thing…you and Stephanie have been going around in circles since 1994. Now I know that time moves at a different pace in the land of Plum, but even so you two haven’t made much progress since High School, and before you know it you’ll be staring at a 40 year old man in the mirror. Isn’t it about time you grew up just the teeniest bit?If you’ve been keeping up with the Plum series then “Tricky Twenty-Two” will feel eerily familiar. And that’s because it just more of the same. Same cars getting annihilated, same break-up then make-up tango with Morelli, same platonic sleep-overs at Ranger’s place, same Lula scarfing down fried food. There’s absolutely nothing new here, even the big zit on Stephanie’s chin has made an encore appearance.So why do I keep reading these books? Good question, and one I ask myself every single time I finish a Plum novel. I think it’s a combination of hope and nostalgia. Nostalgia for a series that I adored way back in the day and hope that I’ll catch a glimpse of the magic that made the early books so special. Alas, my hopes were dashed with this one; no magic to speak of here, but it did bring back memories (mostly because the plot was recycled).I’m going for three stars with this one – it was ‘OK’ for what it is. Keep your expectations low and you won’t be disappointed.

I think it is time to sign off with this author. No tension and not much action almost as if the author has gotten tired of the characters. Come on Janet, pick up the pace and add some action to the stories!

I am a big Will Rogers fan but found this book quite boring with few memorable quotes. I did get a bit more insight to his character than I had known but found myself skimming through most of the passages looking for something entertaining. There are other Will Rogers books that are far more interesting and entertaining.

I have always admired Will Rogers' wit and wisdom, especially when it comes to his observations of politicians. This will be a gift for an older friend.

Funny thing, being human. I think The Tortilla Curtain is a book that can make you think. I enjoyed it. I was just in L.A. and passed through the areas written about in this book so I found the story very interesting and engaging. If you tend to not understand irony, or only take a book at face value, you might not like this book-it can be depressing. If you enjoy irony and find people amazingly dumb at times and recognize the futility of things at times, you might like this book. I read reviews regarding this story where people didn't like any of the characters. I did. I could see people I know and stories I have heard about people in the pages and descriptions of this book, I just found it to be thick with irony, almost funny, but not quite. It's more serious than funny.It's a hard book to describe, though I would recommend spending a few hours with it. The main characters are a Mexican couple, in L.A. illegally, trying to scrape by and maybe someday buy a nice house and have good jobs, but they rarely get a break. There is also a white, upper middle class family that lives in Topanga Canyon who moved there to enjoy the country and the mountains. The husband, Delaney, is a nature writer and his wife, Krya, a realtor. While the Mexicans barely scrape by and live camped along side a waterway, the white couple become concerned with growing crime and the coyotes and other creatures that live in the area. The homeowners assoc. wants to put in a wall to keep out intruders and wild creatures. The liberal nature writer is against the wall and also believes that everyone deserves a chance in this world, no matter who. Except, he has a growing hatred for a Mexican that he accidentally hit with his car. He begins to really hate that guy...It's a fine line in humanity between making it and just having a meal to keep you going. It's also amazing how some people live, rich or poor. It's all life and that's what this book is about. There are no great answers to any problems here. This book is just an examination, albeit, exaggerated, but a story about our civilization and times, and I believe it can make one think and appreciate small luxuries and maybe make one ponder the bigger issues.This is my first T.C. Doyle book and I'll have to check out his other work. I read this book in a few hours and I thought it was very well done.

I really don’t know where to begin. This is a life-changing book – a story that will put you in the shoes of people we see everyday – but don’t really see. The book follows two parallel stories – one of a poor, illegal immigrant couple who have landed in Southern California in desperate search for a better life. The other is that of a comfortable, white couple thriving in the suburbs. What is most interesting as these stories unfold is the disparity between what each couple worries about and struggle with on a daily basis.For the immigrant couple the daily worry is in finding safe shelter, food, employment; security of any kind and survival on the most basic level. The suburban couple worries about getting a bigger commission, what material to use for their kitchen counters, saving the environment and where they should eat out for dinner – the pressures do not revolve around survival, but rather around maintaining – and expanding – their level of comfort and luxury.This is a tale of our times.The story is not told in a manner that condemns the suburbanites – but, instead, demonstrates that this is who they are, how they have been raised culturally – they are a product of our mad dash to the security of a white-picket fence in the suburbs – the result of isolation, cut off from the real suffering of others, making these things seem less real, less human.One must ask – why do we worry more about stray animals and trees than the suffering of people in our own nations and around the world? Is it because we have cut ourselves off from their need – because it is too painful to witness and we feel too helpless in changing their circumstances? Or are we so safe in our hermetically sealed communities that we forget that others are not doing so well.Immigration is not a new challenge to our nation. We have never, truly done a good job of assimilating new arrivals – they have often been discriminated against and discouraged by any means from thriving. We all fear, this is not new, that our nation cannot possibly hold another soul – or that this new group will work for less and take our jobs. The irony is, that our jobs are being sent overseas – much of the work done by immigrants is work we feel is beneath us – menial.  But, honestly, that is neither here nor there.Our failure, on so many levels, is in not recognizing every one of these people as just that – people. They are fathers, mothers, sisters and brothers – doing everything they can to survive. Many of us, if we go back a couple generations, have a plumber, farmer, factory worker or mechanic in our family tree. Go back a couple more and new probably have some newly arrived immigrants – lost in a new world trying to make a better life.Do we know where we come from? Do we know what our ancestors experienced – the discrimination and struggle – that has resulted in our comfortable lives? They wanted a better life – the question is – do we know when we have arrived (gotten what we came for), or is it always a pursuit for more?Reading this book made me uncomfortable. It made me feel ashamed for the dissatisfaction I have felt for my car, my TV or my cell phone – I realized how much I have to be grateful for and that my comfort should be utilized to help others – not create ever more luxurious comforts.The Tortilla Curtain reminded me a great deal of Almanac of the Dead by Leslie Marmon Silko,  Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser, Food, Inc and Lone Star, all of which do a tremendous job of portraying the plight of Mexican Immigrants as they struggle to enter our country and earn a living. I don't know that I am an advocate for illegal immigration, but I certainly feel for them in their struggle. This is a great challenge - one that our nation needs to face sooner rather than later.

WARNING: The paperback edition is not the same as the hardback edition. They really shouldn't be listed together. The paperback edition has a big sign on the back of the book stating, "This is a special version of a textbook widely used by universities throughout the world. Pearson published this edition for the benefit of students outside the United States and Canada. If you purchased this book within the United States or Canada it has been imported without the approval or permission of the Publisher, and it does not include all of the same Problems." The Amazon product description did not disclose these important differences, and none of the third-party sellers seem to disclose this difference. As a result, I purchased the book, and it turned out my son couldn't use it for his class because, according to his Physics teacher, eight of the problem sets are different. Argh.

I used this book for two semesters of physics; I didn't like it. I found the explanations lacking and non-intuitive, and not many tips how to solve problems, but also the equations are not listed clearly. I found my self going on youtube and reading knight-jones-field college physics book as a supplement just to figure out what the book was trying to say.To give an example of why I didn't like this book: In chapter 22 under Energy in EM waves, the author makes zero attempt to help you understand notation. I had no clue what a rms value was. Only after looking online did I find out that if you use the rms valuesthe S ----> S(avg).

This is the physics book that a relative is currently using in his high school, and it is absolutely terrible. I often have to help him, and this book always leaves me scratching my head at how they get from point A to point B. I am no lightweight, either. I got straight A's in physics when I was in high school, and passed the AP exam, and I am a teacher now. If I am struggling so much, that means there is something wrong.Each section starts out with lots of background text, aka fluff that isn't going to help at all with grasping the concepts. Unfortunately, this background sometimes goes right in to the descriptions of formulae and the concepts of the lesson, so it is difficult to skip. Luckily, the formulae are in bold, so they are at least easy to see on the page. But you have to read through the text to understand what they mean, and the text is so poorly written that you often have to read through over and over again just to wrap your head around the formula and what they are trying to say about it.This brings me to the example problems. For what they are, they are fine, and they often make the concepts easier to understand than the actual lesson. So I have no real complaints about the examples that are included. They are just sorely inadequate, which I will explain next.The real glaring problem with this physics course is the problems that students have to do. They take the basic concepts (which students probably didn't even fully grasp in the first place because the lessons are so poorly done), and escalate them to impossible levels. It's fine to ask students to think outside the box, but asking them to think outside the box without anything similar even mentioned in the lesson, almost no information given, and having to combine formulae in crazy ways is just absurd. The book does not prepare them for that in any way. It's like learning to swim in a pool (the lesson) and then being thrown into the middle of the ocean while a storm is raging (the problems). One problem that still sticks out to me asks the student to calculate the Bernoulli forces on a house with a flat roof of given area in a certain speed wind (no information besides flat roof, roof area, and wind speed). The problem was, the lesson had not even gotten close to explaining that kind of thing. It had briefly mentioned Bernoulli forces on airplane wings and spheres, but all of it was about pressure and different flow rates. There wasn't even a suggestion about calculating forces with only one flow rate. And there were lots of other problems with the same problem. I have eventually been able to figure out most of them by careful reading and creative combinations of formulae, but not all. And the amount of effort that these problems required of me, someone who has already learned and understood this stuff and who wrestles with math formulae pretty frequently, is just absurd. If these problems are so difficult for me to do, imagine how much worse they must be for the students who have never done it before.I do not recommend this book. If you are a teacher, homeschooler, administrator, school board, or anyone else choosing curriculum and trying to do well by their students, do not select this book. It is a horrible excuse for a learning resource, and will only set students up for failure and disillusionment with science. A great teacher may be able to compensate for some of this, but don't rely on that. And if the teaching is great, how much better will students learn if they also have a great book. So go and find that great book. Do not buy this!

I needed a text to review physics in preparation for the state licensing exam. I went online to find reviews and Giancoli was the top rated for non calculus based AP physics. I also used Holt and Cutnell and Johnson. I found Giancoli to be the best of them. Concepts are fully explained with no corners cut. Towards the end of chapters they often have real world application examples. There are many problems that get systematically more difficult and are rated by difficulty so that it is easy to find beginner, intermediate and advanced problems. Solutions are provided for the odd numbered problems.I tutor so I generally use the book that the student's class is using. I find that I frequently turn to Giancoli for better problems and clearer examples to show the students. It is the best non-calculus text I have seen. I suppose the best indicator is that I enjoy using it. I don't find myself on guard for the next mistake or poor explanation or missing link in the thought chain. It is a pleasure to use.I found the other books lacking. Holt seemed to be a template to push teachers to purchase products and services. It is somewhat like Windows 8. It is clearly a product of too many MBAs and not enough educators. I am still trying to understand the appeal of Cutnell and Johnson. I find it has holes in the progression of the topic. It does not have the rigor of Giancoli.Regarding Hewitt and Halliday and Resnick. Hewitt deserves its fame as a great conceptual physics book. However I would like to see more problems included.I learned physics from the second edition of Halliday and Resnick. I recently used the 7th edition while working with a student. I am still getting to know this edition. What I like is that it is detailed and certainly has better and more examples than what I learned on. It also has more photos and color photos - a vast improvement :) So far so good. I will do a detailed comment on it after I have had more time.

This textbook was a lifesaver. My school uses a REALLY bad textbook. You should probably take calculus if you are using this textbook. Yes, you don't need it, but I thought the concepts were easier to grasp because of calculus. (although it just might be because I hate algebra's long methods as opposed to easy calc) Idk, but this saved me on every exam.

Easily the worst book ever written. Typos and horrible grammer everywhere. Contradicting information. I love container homes and was looking for real building and design expertise. Unfortunately this book is super amateurish, the writer really needed an editor and more information. Ironically the book suggests finding an expert if you aren't sure of what you are doing. The writer should have followed his own advice. There are no drawings or pictures in the portion of this book that is about container homes. There are a few pictures in the second half of this book which is about tiny homes. Unfortunately the author again simplifies the process and provides misleading information. This is really a pamphlet about one persons limited experience. I do not recommend this book except maybe as kindling.

Planning to build your dream shipping container home will not be too difficult as long as you have this book with you. Know where to start and know how to execute your plans and the things you want for your container home. From the basic things, tips, advantages and disadvantages and more these are just some of what this book can offer. You can avoid major lapses if you're able to apply what you'll learn from this book. Definitely useful!

A home is a home even if it made of a shipping container. I am drawn of this book because of its picture. The shipping container home has a very elegant facade. However, I found out from reading this book that this type of home do not have much space which is like a typical NYC apartment. The author of this book is encouraging its readers to think it over whether or not you really want to build a home using this material taken into consideration the space and weather. But I find houses such as this as modern and romantic. I want to own one someday when I grow tired of city living.

To say I was disappointed would be stretching it. This was 37 pages of information I could have easily retrieved from a quick Google search. I need to go into the book writing business if publishing a book like this will get me 8 to 10 dollars a copy. Do not waste your time or money.

Well I am not happy about this at all. I may would like,the book but it is not in English so I can not read a word. I tired to cancel or modify the order but could not find a way to do it. This must be a simple fix but just grumpy now.. Most of time it ask me foe English so how do I fix or get money back..

This is not a book....this is a pamphlet that will take you less than 30 mins. to read cover to cover & contains no more than about 5-10 minutes worth of internet search information. There is nothing good I can say about this "Pamphlet." You would think there would be Diagrams, Pictures, Website Information, Example Plans, How to Info., Maybe even an example of someone's container home build....NADA! Just a bunch of crap that you can find for free if you search the words "Shipping Container Homes" online. Save your $9 plus $5 Shipping DON'T BUY THIS WASTE OF PAPER! It deserves less than 1 star.

I never knew that there was so much that one could do with shipping containers. The author gives full details about the capabilities of shipping containers dating back from the origin of the container in the 1950's. I found out that shipping containers are perfect for this type of construction because of their strength but we should keep in mind that they also have limitations. He gives information on the various technical factors that need to be considered when attempting to build a home from containers and he also weighs the advantages and drawbacks of considering this as an option. I am convinced that building a home in this method is more cost effective and more environmentally friendly than building a traditional home and I will discuss this option with a contractor because the author stresses to ensure that you enlist the help of a person who is skilled in this area. I may even consider using the advice he gives for building an outdoor pool.
