I really love this book. I love the art work and the lay out. Its a piece of art in itself. I had a hard time warming up to KVD because there was just something so stand off-ish about her. After getting into make up and falling in love with her brand and the artistry that goes into her packaging. Being an artist myself, I couldn't help but give her the respect she deserved as a master of her craft. I wanted to know more about the art side of her since I identify greatly with her dark and gothic taste.I eventually decided "you know what. I like KVD, better yet...I LOVE HER!", so i got this book to see what she was all about. granted there were alot of things she's said and and done that I really had to work to turn a blind eye to. Jefree Star is another hero of mine and seeing how she went about that whole situation really had me struggling to not jump the hate train for her. I do think she use to get more hate then she deserved and it always seemed people were looking for a reason to hate her for everything she did, so I stood by her side and continued buying her stuff. Even as far as dropping $160 on a limited edition make up train case! which is one of the more impulsive and stupid things ive dropped that amount of money on. However, then the wedding came..........If you bought this book, then I'm sure your familiar to the comments our pregnant newly wed Kat has made. She decided to dismiss the countless doctors (including her dad) and years of medical research and evidence in favor of becoming an anti-vaxer, and I just cant. Its one thing to say "You know what, I dont know anything about vaccines, I don't like what i hear so I'm going to do extensive research from credible sources. I will speak to those who are for it an against it and see where my beliefs lie. I will hold MEDICALLY AND SCIENTIFIC evidence higher than a few Netflix documentaries and the opinions of NOT DOCTORS. I will be open minded in my search so that it is not swayed by biasness." Instead, she lashes out at her fan who were genuinely concerned, the people who allows her to live her luxurious life and tell them to basically, "shut the fk up and mind your own business" after she herself put it out there. She is so willing to listen to ppl who say "vaccines are bad" but so quick to ignore her fans who have shared stories of how a vaccine could have saved a life of a loved one or how a lack of vaccine lead to hospitalization of themselves or a someone close to them. She has just gone about all this is the worst way possible.I will not give this book a 1 or 2 stars because of my personal feelings towards Kat at the moment. I still buy her products and I will still read this book. My feelings do not take away the quality and artistic visuals of this book. I will however give it 3 star as I feel it is as neutral of a rating I can give it. Weighing how great this book is against the horrible way she has treated her fans in recent months.........3 stars is the best I can do.

Just like the other reviewer, I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this book. I actually came across her 2nd book, Tattoo Chronicle and then I realized that she has this book out first. I went to Amazon and bought this book for $19. I absolutely love it! I already love tattoo to begin with. I only have a few but I am fascinated by the story and meaning behind each and every tattoo. I was dying to find out what her story was about each one.I got this book Saturday afternoon and started reading it the following day. It was sooooo interesting to me that I was done by Wednesday. I do think that it is because it has a lot of pictures and graphics of the tattoo that made it super easy to read. The first part of the book is basically about Kat Von D's life. How she ran away and met this boy named James and fell in love. Who she came across in order to start tattooing. A little bit about her family and her Latina roots.The middle part of her book is about the tattoos on her body. She didn't really go into detail about each and every single one of her tattoo, I was sort of disappointed in that. I was looking forward to know and understand why she put so many tattoo on her body. Why she had chosen this particular placement and design. I realized that maybe it wasn't as meaningful as I was hoping that each of her tattoo to be. Either way, it was very nice to be able to see the close up of her tattoo instead of just a big black and grey blur. And she also tell you which one hurts the most which I was literally laughing out loud about.Then she tells you a little bit about her love for music, why she likes Ludwig Van Beethoven. Although she didn't get into detail about why she would have 7 tattoos of Ludwig Van Beethoven, it just proves that music means that much to her. Then her book talks a little bit about the tattoo machines and some of the very famous tattoo artists work and where you can find them all over the world.It was very easy to read where I didn't think she was trying to be someone she's not. A lot of people think that just because she is heavily tattooed doesn't make her any less feminine or beautiful. She likes her music and she knows them well. She likes her make up and she knows that well too. I personally think she is beautiful. And if you like tattoo, wants to know about tattoo, like to look at some really awesome tattoos, I would recommend getting this book. As soon as I was done, I had 3 people asking me to lend it to them. Even though I was kind of selfish and didn't want to share my brand new book that I just bought and just finished reading, I figured I should let them see why I think Kat Von D is beautiful. Of course, that is just in my opinion~

Its a autobiography at its core but spreads out into so much more. She shares the spotlight with other people who inspired her and shows of some of the people wearing her art. There's even a part where she offers advice on the best way in going about getting a tattoo and aftercare. Great book!

I love Kat and this book was really well written and gives a more detailed biography of her life in mexico, how she started tattooing and her development as an artist. It has some of her own tattoos, some of her ex Nikki Sixx, and it is inspirational even if you're not a tattoo artist. I am fascinated with her because she is not only laid back, but talented and has done a lot just within the three seasons of LA Ink. The book cover is appealing and its kind of padded and looks worn and old. I love that. It suits the book itself. The shipping took a bit but it was so worth it!

I gave this book 5 Stars because I'm Chuck Zukowski, the investigator in the book. First, I receive no profits from the book, but what I do receive is, knowing people are reading about real events that have affected mine and my family's life. (Over 30 years.) Ben Mezrich has a phenomenal writing ability putting information out to the public in which everyone can enjoy, and it was an honor working with him. While you're reading this book, you'll learn a lot about UFOlogy, from "Balls of Light" to "Animal Mutilations" which are still occurring, as recent as late August, 2016. These events are real! Some comments I've read are from people who don't like the ending of the book, some people want to see a conclusion, or conclusive evidence Aliens exist, well it's a lot more complicated than that. We live in a world where information is being hidden from the public, and some people seem to disappear when getting too close, so the only way to combat that, is to get as much information as we can out to the public; and this book does that. Read the book, decide for yourselves, and if you have any questions, simply email me... Thank you...

I wanted to like this book. I truly did. I have a library of UFO books, signed by prestigious authors.This book I own on Kindle, and I am considering deleting the purchase from my Kindle library,due to the abusive manner in which the reader is treated.Now, I have few comments for the writer..I mean, if I wanted to be picky, I'd talk about the extremedisorganization and poor flow of the material. I'd mention the "William Shatner"-esque over-dramatizationof non-dramatic material. I'd mention various things..but I can forgive amateur-hour when it comes towriting, if the content is solid.The content is wretched.On a positive note, it was an interesting character study, of a man who seemingly loved his private obsession with UFOlogy more than his wife and family. I can't imagine bribing my wife with new counter tops, to earn the right to abandon her over a long weekend doing something reckless. I was rooting for the wife to divorce him, so that there would be at least a proper "three act play" sort of resolution; but there was no resolution; the wife didn't divorce him, NOR forgive him, not in the book at any rate. Of course, I have no idea whether one word in the book is supposed to be true, or it is simply pure fiction.Now I'm well acquainted with UFOlogy, going back to the occult beginnings of the field pre-Kenneth Arnold.Despite that base of knowledge, I truly do not wish to comment upon the supposed UFO, "Paranormal" andmutilation content. There are dozens/hundreds of books which examine these subjects in scholarly detail.This is not a scholarly book.If that's what you are looking for with this book---i'd recommend not buying it. I'd also recommend that you not buy this book unless you want to be treated like a foolish child and abused.The reason I say this of course, is that the story limps along in a melodramatic, but low-information content manner, until the supposed main premise of the book is mentioned without warning or back-story in the last pages of the book, surprising the reader without any foundation whatsoever. It's rather like saying "the butler did it"in a cornball murder mystery.The final insult has the main character going back to the beginning of the book.. where supposedly he learns the "great secret". Unfortunately the "great secret" is mostly redacted, so you have no idea what supposedly happened, except that perhaps Robert Bigelow is falsely accused of faking the global phenomena ---or something of that sort.. but with the redaction-fest, you just feel like a fool; that you wasted your money on the book.

My copy of this book has numerous printing and editing errors. See the photo — the second sentence of the entire book is compressed into one word. Then, in Chapter 2: “...he finally reached the dirt turnoff to the fifty-acre cattle-and-horse ranch, whose owner, Glenda, had called him.” Two pages later, still in the same location: “He’d been on plenty of ranches over the years...Glenda’s compound wasn’t unusual. Eighty or so acres...” So which is it, fifty acres or eighty acres? I can forgive the writer this mistake, given the incredible amounts of information he’s managing, but where are the editors and proofreaders? I continue to find similar issues.How does this happen from a respectable publisher like Simon & Schuster? How does this pass through multiple professionals’ hands but still get printed with a bunch of dumb mistakes? It’s especially disappointing for a book like this, about UFOs, where you’re already fighting an uphill battle of credibility. Most people by default are taking it with a grain of salt, so an amateurish print edition sure doesn’t help things. The book is interesting and otherwise well written; I just wanted to point out the editing QC issues for people who might care.

Excellent overview of the cattle and animal mutilations over the past 50+ years. Story line will hold some readers attention and may be less comfy for just the facts people. Glad that Mezrich with his following is tackling this devastating problem that I have followed for over 40 years. There are still too few answers and we will hope Chuck Zukowski will always continue his research and build on Linda Moulton Howe's work. First author to really tackle this problem in a story format - so love it or not, but never forget this is a REALLY BIG ISSUE of animal mutilations for all of us, not just ranchers. Question is this: What would you do with cow parts and blood?

It was a five star until the last page - why bother even putting it in the book if it is heavily redacted? I'd really like to know why he ended the book in that manner.

If you think the army supposedly buying coffins in Roswell in the 1940s proves aliens crashed in the desert, you will love this book. Even if you don't think that, it's still a fun read, despite the fantastic leaps in logic and the fact that the main character gives new meaning to the phrase "UFO nut." If you cross Dwight from The Office with Mulder from X-Files, you get the main character of this book. Oh, and give him guns. Lots of guns. Like I said, fun, if you read it as fiction, despite its being partly a "true" story.

This book is a work of nonfiction. It reads like a novel. The information Mezrich relates is fascinating--I don't know if I have ever read a nonfiction book that I literally could not put down. Kudos to Mezrich and to Zukowski--I want not only to believe, but I want to learn more!!

I love the sermons of Charles Spurgeon. I have nothing but praise for the man. I have been reading his sermons online for many years. So I downloaded about five of these volumes because they were only $.99. Then I discovered why they were that cheap. You cannot get through a single paragraph without finding several words that don't even make sense in the sentence. These volumes were never proofread. For example why would they use the word "beaver" in place of the word "heaven?" I would read a paragraph and then have to look that sermon up online to find out what it was actually saying. I don't know how things are copied to be downloaded as e-books. But whatever process was used for these should have never been used. I returned the five volumes I downloaded.

Charles Spurgeon is in my opinion the greatest minister, with possible exception of Billy Graham, that has ever been. His style is blunt, some would say crude, but to the point and unapologetic for his method of delivery. He preaches the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and not a lot of theology. The ordinary man can understand and relate to his delivery. Need more like him and John Calvin in today's Church.

A marvelous collection! I now realize how little people change over the centuries. Hearts could be changed for eternity if these things were preached today, and people really took what he said to heart. Some of the sermons require spiritual maturity to understand, so no one would be bored if they really listened.

You can't argue with the price, but unfortunately this version of Spurgeon's sermons Volume 1 has a flaw. The issue surrounds the numbering of the points and sub-points within the sermons. In the first couple of sermons (at least), Spurgeon indicates the sermon will address three major points. The text then begins numbering I, II etc. Sub-points are also numbered 1, 2 etc. Unfortunately, these points and sub-points are not accurate and can mean you miss the original flow of the sermon.Apart from that, the edition seems to be well-done, but given the issue with the numbering and how that can lead to a loss of ability to follow the flow of the sermon, I can't recommend it. The edition produced by CCEL seems to be correct, and still very reasonably priced.

I love to read Gods word. I don't always understand it. This book has given me in site to difficult passages which helped to make the lights come on.

I have not read all of the sermons in this collection as of yet, since it takes a while to digest Spurgeon's writings. However, if you want to learnGod's word and His teachings study Spurgeon's writings in this and other publications. Spurgeon's Morning and Evening Devotions are also agood daily devotional series.

Spurgeon is the most amazing, along with Meyer. This volume contains 50+ sermons - all excellent. These two have an understanding of scripture that boggles the mind

Spurgeon is always worth reading,No matter your mood, situation, spiritual condition, or maturity he's simply unrivalled as a gospel preacher. I'm very much looking forward to cracking open vol. 2.Don't delay and start your journey through these, Spurgeon's earliest recorded sermons.
