Idk what I was expecting but based on the reviews, I guess I was expecting much more. This is a almost a kid drawn book with simple wording- not much of an inspiration. I will gift it to someone who hopefully can appreciate it more than me but I am not impressed by it.

What a gem! The perfect little bedside table book for a daily dose of self care. Beautiful illustrations. Bought it for myself but definitely plan to buy copies as a gifts. A great little way to remind someone they are loved.

I thought this book kmwas supposed to be daily affirmations, not. The illustrations look like they were done by a 6 year old. Very disappointed ☹️

It's a cute little remainder to take it easy on yourself. It gives a good message and information (with relating pictures), but doesn't try to come across as too textbook or wordy.

Cute book: message and design. Now buying for my best friends as a gift.

I didn't but this on Amazon ... I found it in a store and am so thankful I came across it. It is beautifully illustrated so just looking at it is interesting and fun. But the words are amazing and have such a positive impact. Clarissa distills these broad concepts into little digestible tidbits. And she gets how things are sometimes really hard, especially if you have depression, and this book just brings perspective that there is hope. Thank you for this beautiful piece of work. I'll read it with my children to let them know it is okay to not always be happy, that it's okay to feel sad, that things will get better.

I can't wait to give this out to all the wonderful people in my life who could use some cheer. It's such a beautiful, colorful homage to feelings!

About the Author

John Wesley (1703–1791) is known for two things: cofounding Methodism and his tremendous work ethic. In the 1700s, when land travel was by walking, horseback, or carriage, Wesley logged more than four thousand miles a year. During his lifetime he preached about forty thousand sermons. In 1729, he became a tutor at Oxford University. While there, he founded a religious club that was nicknamed "the Methodists." In 1738, Wesley's life was changed when he was attending a religious meeting in London. He later said that while listening to somebody read Martin Luther's Preface to Romans, "I felt my heart strangely warmed." Afterward, he became a great preacher, traveling throughout the British Isles. Although he never intended to form a new church separate from the Church of England, his followers soon began to form their own organization. The Methodists placed great emphasis on living a holy life, and they had many traveling preachers. Wesley preached his last sermon on February 23, 1791, and died a week later, on March 2, at the age of eighty–seven.

I love it.As dead as the church is now;I never would have dreamed that John Wesley believed and taught the power and anointing of the Holy Ghost!!I would have given it more stars but they only had 5.He talks about the gifts of the Spirit and the power of God.He gives history and reason not just feelings.He speaks of the necessity of the operation of The Holy Ghost in our lives and how we should be more yielded.And also the blessings that can be ours.It is a GREAT read!!!

You don't have to be a Methodist in order to appreciate John Wesley. John Wesley shows us how to make what the Bible says about living godly lives become real in our own lives. I have read the sermons in this collection as they were originally written by John Wesley. Yes, in the original writings, the sentences are longer; but, in my opinion, not "that" much longer. To read the sermons the way Wesley wrote them is the most meaningful. But "The Holy Spirit and Power" does not take away from the original meanings of John Wesley. If someone has trouble dealing with "long" sentences, I highly recommend this book.

This anointed book will guide you how to keep your eyes and your heart focused on one and only: JESUS, the author and the finisher of our faith !

It makes me feel like I'm walking with Wesley, and he is teaching me all over.
